Augusta, GA “ When Armand M. Karow, Jr., Ph.D., founder of Xytex International, passed away in February 2007, he left behind a more than 30 year legacy of work in cryopreservation and reproductive tissue storage.
At the October 7 annual meeting of the shareholders of the stock company, Julian Osbon, Board Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Xytex International, announced that the founder’s wife, Ramona, and sons, Jonathan and Christopher, were elected to the Xytex International Board of Directors. As newly elected Directors, they will carry on Dr. Karow’s legacy.
Married to Dr. Karow in 1964, Mrs. Karow is a former educator and holds a bachelor of science in education from Mississippi College. She is an active member of Delta Kappa Gamma, Rho chapter, and a Stephen Minister in association with Stephen Ministries. She is a former member of the American Home Economics Association and a former officer and member of the Faculty Wives of MCG.
Christopher Karow recently joined Xytex International as a specialist in business development, educational programs and ethics. He is a Lance Corporal in the U.S. Marine Corps and is a former marketing program director of the Coca-Cola Company. He is a graduate of the University of Georgia.
Jonathan Karow is the founder and president of Rock Bottom Music, which was established in 1998. He is an active supporter of the growth and restoration of Augusta and Aiken’s downtown business and arts districts, and is a retail partner with NAMM, the National Association of Music Merchants.
